#111 4/20 POT luck/Musubi

At my work we try to have a pot luck every month or so. Today we decided to have a POT luck and have everyone bring their favorite Munchie. Keep in mind that several years ago I wanted to become a little more adventurous and try some new things. One of the things I tried was sushi. Ok, I haven't eaten it since. But I did find that it wasn't as bad as I thought and... I can say I have tried it. ( I just can't get past the fact that it is raw fish>) Today, I not only tried but actually learned how to make Musubi. It is a very popular snack or lunch food in Hawaii. The history on this sort of dates back to World War II. At the time our soldiers were getting alot of war rations containing canned meats such as vienna sausages and SPAM. So here are the pictures of our POT luch and SPAM Musubi. Much like the sushi I wasn't a big fan. mainly because of the Nori that it is wrapped in. Nori is a flat sheet of roasted seaweed. But it was fun to learn to make it and spend some time with my co workers. Happy 4/20 everyone.
