#184 Vacation

Technically I am on vacation.  For the past several years We have gone up to the La Sal canyons and gone camping.  I asked for the time off in advance.  

This year my husband has been having some trouble with his ATV but he took it in and to our dismay it was "fixed" by Friday... but, we had to rethink our vacation for 2 other reasons:  There have been alot of wild fires. In fact the area where we were planning on going camping was involved.   The second reason is that if we decided to go it would most likely be that we could not be able to have a campfire because alot of places are banning them.   Now I ask you what is a camping trip if you can's sit around the campfire and roast marshmellows and hot dogs at night.    So we banned the idea of going camping.  

However, today we decided to take a ride on the ATV's .   We went for a quick ride ( about an hour) 
on a couple of trails we have not been on before.

We were headed back to the trailer and going to load up to drive to another canyon area we wanted to try.  About 1/4 mile from the trailer his ATV stopped working.   Luckily after letting it cool down we were able to get back to the trailer without towing it. 

But, we did not feel comfortable about going on any more rides, so... we headed home, and dropped the ATV off for repairs on the way.

Not the vacation we expected, but no one is hurt and we didn't end up spending a ton of money on gas to go to the La Sals  and get stuck there without a campfire and not able to go riding.   We will enjoy the couple of remaining days we have off doing something else.   Maybe take a short road trip or take in a couple movies.    It will be time well spent together, away from work.  : )
