Starting January 1, 2012 I will be taking the 365 day photo challenge. The challenge is to take photos everyday and post the best one. I was encouraged to take this challenge by a friend that did the challenge for 2011. I can't wait to see what great photo opportunities come my way in the coming year! These are my photos. #164 sunflower power
It was a long day and by the time I pulled in the drive I was tired and glad to be home. Look what I had waiting for me. My first sunflower of the year has bloomed!
In case you haven't noticed from my previous blogs... I love flowers. I cannot say I have a favorite, that just would not be fair. I love some flowers like lillies, iris' and roses for their beauty. I love my ice plant because of the way it grows and looks. It is so different from other flowers. My lavender and russian sage for their fagrance. The list goes on and on.... Well, I love sunflowers because they are so strong, I can plant them anywhere and they seem to survive. I also like them because they lift their face to the sun and embrace it. Sunflowers to me are a " happy flower". I have planted them in my yard since we bought our first house 23 years ago. What a wonderful surprise to have this beautiful flower to greet me tonight!
